Paul Wickert, company president, received his Bachelors degree in economics from Carroll University, Waukesha WI in 1973. After an eleven year career as an officer in the banking industry, Paul converted his part time avocation in tax preparation into a new full time vocation joining Acc-U-Rite in 1984 passing the then three day Enrolled Agent (EA) exam in fall of 1985. He was instrumental in and primarily responsible for the conversion of the practice from paper to computer during the late 1980’s and on into the era of modern electronic filing that we have today.
Recognizing the unmet and neglected long term and retirement financial needs of their clients, Paul became determined to add Financial Planning and Investment Services* and, in 1993, Paul associated with Avantax Investment ServicesSM, a national broker dealer network of tax professionals and financial advisors. In that process Paul attained his series 6, 7, 63 and 65 of Securities licensures, General Securities and Investment Co. & Variable Contract representative licenses, his WI Life and Variable insurance licenses, as well as his WI Investment Advisor Representative (IAR) license. In February 2005 he earned the designation of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC® ) conferred by The American College, Bryn Mawr PA. Paul periodically contributes educational tax and financial information to business reporters of the Milwaukee Journal and has been interviewed on various taxation matters on local television. Paul is semi-retired as of 2021, but still present in the office as needed and full time during tax season.
