Estate Tax Returns

The death of a loved one is never easy.  Losing a family member such as a father, a mother, a grandparent, or any member of your extended family can be difficult to deal with on an emotional level without any doubt.  These times in your life can become extremely stressful for the entire family.  After the funeral a surviving spouse or a personal representative will usually have to work through a large amount of paperwork to help get the decedent's financial affairs in order.  In some cases, this may require that an Estate Tax Return be filed if there is no surviving spouse.

As a personal representative for an Estate, you may have to file a tax return for the Estate.  An Estate Tax Return has several unique characteristic's that differ from the 'normal' 1040 tax return that you file each year.
